Teams site membership
- Nov 21, 2023
Hi vffdd,
You're right.
When integrating SharePoint sites and Teams, specific settings and permissions must be managed independently in the Microsoft Teams settings. Certain options, such as Permissions, are not editable when navigating to Settings in the SharePoint site. Here's a short summary of how to handle settings and permissions:
- Settings managed in SharePoint encompass items like Site name, Site description, and Hub association.
- Settings managed in Teams cover aspects like Site permissions, Sensitivity classification, and Private channel membership.
For channel sites, the SharePoint site permissions panel displays permissions in read-only mode. While site owners can access and update options like site sharing or guest expiration in the panel, site permissions management requires going to Microsoft Teams.
To manage access to the Teams site, it's necessary to do so from within Teams. Navigate to the team name, select More options > Manage team. In the Settings tab, adjust the desired options or permissions.
