Team site through mobile device
(1) Use default mobile view for SharePoint that does not provide a really good user experience as you are describing.
(2) For SharePoint Online, 2016 and 2013 use the SharePoint App that is available for iOS, Android and Windows.
(3) Create your own custom mobile experience...for instance, making your sites fully responsive so you can browse them directly from your mobile device
(4) Use third party tools that can make SharePoint mobile friendly
Thank you Juan Carlos González Martín for your thorough answer, I'll forward it to my organization.
We are in O365 environment and I used Chrome browser in Android phone. And as I mentioned, the team site was opened to the 'site contents' page.
I also tested SharePoint Android App, and the team site was opened to the page 'Something went wrong ...', but it was possible to continue and browse the real content.
Perhaps we have to live with this.
- Richard BourkeNov 04, 2016Iron ContributorYou can disable the "site contents" mobile view by Deactivating the Mobile Browser View site feature ( https://YourTeamSiteURL/_layouts/15/ManageFeatures.aspx ) Disabling this feature does not mean you will get a solid mobile experience, as per Juan Carlos González Martín there are other options to look at.
