Survey App in Communication Site

We are conducting a review of Communication sites and one item we are looking at is the ability in using a Poll.  Although we can look into Microsoft Forms, we were trying to understand the SharePoint OOB options.  In the past the Survey app or list has been used in our organization for conducting simple polls. In a communication site, the Survey App is not available unless you specifically enable the Team Collaboration Lists.  Once the feature is enabled you can create the survey/poll question.  However, getting to the next level is where I think its not possible. As we look to display the poll/survey question on the home page it seems our only choice is to use the List Preview web part which seems to only display lists that are compatible with the modern UI. Is it correct to say that Survey Lists/Apps wont be getting the modern UI compatibility and thus remain not an option when using the List web part?
