Specify a group as SPO site collection administrator
Is it possible to specify a group as administrator for a Site Collection (SC) in SharePoint Online?
The reason I ask, is that we have decided to not allow users to be SC admins and we would prefer not to use the personal accounts of the IT staff for the SC administrator role (and we are not allowed to create service accounts).
Each site will be created as a site collection, and the owner will have Full Control on the site, but will not be Site Collection Administrator.
Any thoughts on this? How are you handling this?

further to jcgonzalezmartin's response, you can not do this at the creation ofthe site collection in the SharePoint Admin Center, but wihtin the Site Settings of the root site in the site collection you can select groups.
Also, if you create the site collections through code/powershell you can use groups.

It's possible and you can add a Group as Site Collection admin without problems.
