Site template differences - STS#0 and EHS#1

What are the differences between the site templates EHS#1 (Team Site SharePoint Online) and STS#0 (Team Site)?

If there is any difference in those templates, it'd help first if you could even make a site using that template. Whether you use the GUI or powershell's new-sposite cmdlet with that template selected, the system will change your Title to '[Tenant Org] Team Site' and template to STS#0. I've looked for any reference to this but haven't found any yet. I'll concede that this issue could be particular to our Tenant, so just asking if anyone else has noticed this behavior on theirs? Thanks!

I just created a site using each of these templates and am looking for the answer to the OP's question.

After digging through the Site Contents and Site Settings, the only difference I can see is that the EHS#1 site is missing the "Delete this site" link under Site Actions (on the Site Settings page). There does not appear to be any other way to delete the site, although obviously it could be deleted (er, 'removed') via Powershell.

That being said, I'm curious as to the logic behind having it as a separate template. I guess it would prevent users from inadvertently deleting sites. If that's a problem in your organization, you probably have more pressing issues than which template to use.

I have tried to provision a site using the EHS#1 site template with powershell. At first it looks like it works but if you look at the template after the site is fully created it is converted to STS#0.

It has actually been available for a long time, I noticed it today when I was migrating some sites from 2010. I have not been able to find any meaningful description of its purpose.
