Site page text webpart Header 1 missing
- Aug 16, 2023
BLim510 I have seen the same issue in few of the SharePoint tenants, from last 4-5 days.
I think the issue is for targeted released tenants as I have tested on such tenants. Check: Set up the Standard or Targeted release options
Issue might be for standard release tenants as well, but I have not tested for those tenants. I think this issue is from Microsoft end with recent updates to SharePoint.
I will suggest you to raise the support ticket with Microsoft directly and report this behavior: Get M365 support - online support

Hi BLim510
The problem you are experiencing is a known issue with SharePoint Online. The Header 1 option is missing from the text webpart dropdown menu. This issue affects all tenants, both Teams and Communications sites.
There are a few things you can do to work around this issue:
- If you need to use Header 1 style for your text, you can use the <h1> tag in the text webpart. This will create a heading with the Header 1 style, even though the option is not available in the dropdown menu.
- You can use the TOC webpart to create a table of contents for your page. The TOC webpart will automatically use Header 1 style for the main headings on your page.
- You can wait for Microsoft to fix this issue. Microsoft is aware of the problem and is working on a fix.
Here are the steps on how to use the <h1> tag in the text webpart:
- Open the text webpart on your page.
- Click in the text area and type the text you want to use for your heading.
- In the text editor, click on the "HTML" button.
- In the HTML editor, add the following tag before the text you want to use for your heading:
<h1>
- After the text, add the following tag:
</h1>
- Click on the "Text" button to switch back to the text editor.
- Your heading will now be formatted with the Header 1 style.
Here are the steps on how to use the TOC webpart to create a table of contents for your page:
- Add the TOC webpart to your page.
- In the TOC webpart, click on the "Settings" button.
- In the settings, select the "Use Header 1" option.
- Click on the "Save" button.
- Your TOC webpart will now automatically use Header 1 style for the main headings on your page.
I hope this helps!
