Site Collection Admin in Modern Team Sites
Hi, I'm creating new team sites in SharePoint online, but I can't find out how to view them in the SharePoint Admin Portal so I can admin them in the same way that I can if I create a team site within the SharePoint Admin Portal itself. Do they take a while to appear there, or am I missing something?

Also, you can access various admin pages for Groups team sites directly, i.e. via their URL.
In fact, also if the links to those pages are no more exposed in the UI, the pages still work normally.
For more info give a look to this thread: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint/Site-Collection-Admin-in-Modern-Team-Sites/m-p/35583#M3242
- I think at some time in the future moderm team sites and Groups sites will be shown in the SharePoint Online Administration Center
The (group-backed) Team Sites are hidden, they dont appear in the SPO Admin center, but you can manage them via PowerShell/CSOM.

As you mention you are creating new teamsites in the modern look you are most possible creating groups as well. Groups wil not be displayed in the admin center for SharePoint but as vasil mentioned you can edit with csom and powershell. General settings can be changed in the admin center under groups.
