Sharing with Groups
garnern2 I don't think adding security groups in Microsoft 365 groups is supported. I had a similar issue before when a security group was added to SharePoint online access group, users showed up as being member of group but got access denied. Support engineer concluded that it was not a supported scenario.
Recently Microsoft announced support for nested Azure AD groups, It may be worth taking a look. https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-entra-azure-ad-blog/create-quot-nested-quot-groups-with-azure-ad-dynamic-groups/ba-p/3118024

This isn't the issue. I can find the group I'm sharing with. I can also find one of the subgroups. I've shared with both, and it still doesn't allow access.

Bharath Arja it wasn’t. However, despite the user being part of the group when it was blocking access, it suddenly started working this afternoon with no changes. So what I’m doing works…it just apparently takes time.
