SharePoint Viewers is not working on Team Sites

Hello,

Has anyone come across the issue of activating SharePoint Viewers in Site Settings, only to find that it does not reflect on the file card information? The file cards do not show either the number or the details of viewers. This is only happening on Team Sites. Has anyone got any suggestions please?
