SharePoint support fob off?
Hi
We have a user base that in office 365 that uses Microsoft Business standard license's. I am having trouble with SharePoint were i need logs from a SharePoint site but ive been told by Microsoft that this isnt possible and i need to purchase Microsoft Unified support or premier support?
The issue is we are migrating all of our department data from on premise in to SharePoint. I have already done HR, Finance, And training Departments. Each is its own SharePoint site. We started having an issue with file duplications on the training SharePoint site, where there would be a document that had its file name plus the computer name for example "attendee-report - 2021-03-29T150508.250-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21-PET-RLILLEY21" which along side the file path was over 400 characters long. This meant that all staff who have this site synchronized with their OneDrive could no longer synchronize the directory. So i had to unlink the SharePoint site, and reset there OneDrive cache on each computer after removing all the duplicates from SharePoint. Now looking at the "details" of the file in SharePoint it said that i had created the files!? Which was impossible because i didnt have that site synchronized with my OneDrive client. And also my computer name is "PET-DWILL-23" so if i had created them surly the name wouldnt be PERLILLY21" I have no need to because i work in the I.T Department and the SharePoint site in question is Training. I then removed all access that i had to that SharePoint site, so that it was impossible to happen again. But it did. and i had to go through the whole process of removing the duplicates again, unlinking the SharePoint site, and resetting OneDrive cache. So i then asked Microsoft for some support. I said i needed to find out where the duplicates were coming from, how i could prevent this from happening again, and if there was a way i could check the entire SharePoint site for any further duplicates. And what i got back was this
"Hi David,
Good day, thank you for your email and sorry for the late reply, due to the time zone difference. Ok I see, if I clearly understand the files duplicating with the computer name , to fix the issue duplicate files with computer name, please follow the steps in the article below: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onedrive-for-businesssharepoint-online-duplicate/c0d048b8-b326-455c-857e-4c5a96b120a9. "
I explained this was not what i needed, and after a lot of back and forth that felt like i was speaking to a first liner on their first day i eventually got:
". Ok regarding this concern, I understood that you removed the duplicate files and want to know why this happened. Kindly be aware that as frontline engineer, we do not provide root cause, as it's only supported by premier support. However, if the issue persists, please help follow the steps below to capture fiddler and provide the logs to check from our side and help resolve it:"
Is this even acuate? Microsoft are being extremely frustrating
