SharePoint Standard Features in a Site Collection - Not Activated
I have noticed that the SharePoint Server Standard (and Enterprise) Site Collection Features are not activated in new SPO sites. How does SPO work without these being enabled?
Many of those services are not used. It's just things like excel services access services etc. those aren't part of standard SharePoint. And the standard features are things tied to user profile stuff etc. which is now all handled via OneDrive / Delve. So not needed. The Team site features etc. are still turned on which is your basic list templates and all of that.
