Sharepoint Site & Library Search

Our company has a Sharepoint site that is only used for document management purposes.  It is structured where there is a library that has a folder architecture for Level 1 (Root folders), Level 2 (sub folders), and Level 3 (subfolders) under those Level 2 folders. Inside the Level 3 sub folders are specific information in folders and documents that relate to the Level 1 and Level 2 hierarchy. Overall, this library has a lot of folders and contents, and we rely heavily on searching by the Level 3 folder reference and the Level 3 folder would appear in the results. As of 2 days ago, that capability has stopped working and now is only showing folders and documents nested under the Level 3 folder, not the Level 3 folder itself.  Has anyone else faced this issue?  I handle our Sharepoint administration and have not made any critical modifications to search schema and querying in this Sharepoint site.

Thanks!

  • Try to reindex the library and see if that helps!

But something I would recommend you doing is seeing over the structure, if it's hard to manage and search for files, then it's probably time to think over the architecture
