Sharepoint Shortcuts - 404 Error Page not Found

Hi,

We have a user that has a bunch of sharepoint documents. They have two ways to access these documents.

1. Through the "activity" Section on the main sharepoint page

2. Through the document list on the right hand side.

When using the activity shortcuts all the sharepoint documents return a 404 error. When using the document list the pages open without issue.

Both links have Different URL's. One 404's and one opens the document without issue.

Anyone know how to get around this and update the URL's for the recent documents in the "activity" section?

Thanks

HI Matthew I believe the "Recent Documents" is a pre-built Content Search Web Part.

First, I would add the "Recent Documents" to a new page and see if it works.  If it does, then it tells you the web part on the other page is just broken and either replace it or inspect the web part properties to see what's wrong with the query.

If it doesn't work by adding the Recent Documents to a new page in that it gets teh documents, but the URLs don't work then you have a larger issue that may need Microsoft's attention.  Is this SharePoint On Premise or SharePoint Online?

    Good luck!

      Hi Joel,

      Its sharepoint online.

When you state "I would add the "Recent Documents" to a new page and see if it works.", are you referring to a new sharepoint site? Im not sure what your referencing when stating a "new page"

      Thanks

      Matt
