SharePoint Server 2016 DLP with Cloud Search Service Application only?

Hey Tech Community,

Now that I have my hybrid search working in my SharePoint Server 2016 thanks to the Cloud Search Service Application, I decided to delete my original Search Service Application. Now, the DLP won't work i.e. the ediscovery site won't find any questionable documents. So it appears that DLP works with the default Search Service Application only. Is that true? or is there a way I can make it work using the Cloud Search Service Application?
