I'm currently working with the ACS and SharePoint teams on this topic. I'll update the thread when I have more info or when they release an official statement.

Hi Trevor, do you have a quick status update for us? We are planning to migrate our solution which are using ACS, but it would be nice to have several options to migrate to.
Thanks in advance!

- Dec 20, 2017Nothing concrete, but I wouldn't fret about using ACS. Removing ACS (or replacing it) would be a significant undertaking within the SharePoint product. Given there are so many dependencies in both SharePoint Online and On-Prem for ACS as a service, while behind the scenes things might be moved around, I doubt we'll see a replacement for ACS within the SharePoint product itself for some time.

Hi Trevor
Does it mean that we can still use ACS in production environment and SharePoint team will provide a seamless migration from ACS to other technology such as Azure AD?
Thanks

- Jan 04, 2018We don't have an answer yet as to how the scenario will play out. I wouldn't avoid using ACS (you can't if you're using most forms of Hybrid or if using Low Trust Apps, for example).
