What are the requirements for recovery? A site collection is backed up  every 12 hours and can be recovered to a previous state for 14 days by Microsoft but only the full site collection. There are different recovery options for data that has been deleted. 

To be able to self restore a site collection to a previous time or recovery an item in that site collection you would be looking at a prodcut to do that. Something like: -
