Sharepoint Online external data and Azure connector
For a SharePoint Online list we created a column with an Information Type of “External data”. It is connected via an Azure “Data Integration Layer“ connector that works because we can view and select contents from the external data. But once we double click on an item we get an error message stating that “No exact match was found. Click the item(s) that did not resolve for more options. You can also use Select button to choose External Data”. The field value shows the ID, __bk82000300030003000300030003006300530063009300. When we use the “options” we get the same error.
Is anyone familiar with this issue?

- Can you tell us what Data Integration Layer are you using in SPO?
The Data Integration Layer is a MS SQL server database runs on a MS VM through the Azure platform. The connection is realised via the Business Connectivity Services from Sharepoint.

- Thanks! So you are getting the error when selecting the external data in the external column configuration? Are you able to create an external list using the external content type created? I guess you created it using SharePoint Designer 2013, correct?
