SharePoint Online does not keep querystring in redirections anymore

Hi all,

during last week and this week we've noticed another behavior change in SharePoint Online.

Until now, when a user browsed to a site URL (without specifying the welcome page) but adding a querystring, this querystring was kept in the redirected URL, i.e.:

https://contoso.sharepoint.com/myteamsite/?myparam=1

redirected to:

https://contoso.sharepoint.com/myteamsite/SitePages/Home.aspx?myparam=1

This behavior also applies to SharePoint on-premises.

However, this has changed during the last days and now the destination URL loses the querystring. We rely on this behavior for our application. 

Is it an intended change or is there any possibility to bring it back?
