BCS use and access does not depend on the license type you have for your users so you don't need to upgrade from E1 to E3 in orider to be able to use it.

Thanks for your response.
Does that mean we only need E3 license mainly to configure BCS?
The reason I asked is that according to the link below, E3 license seems to be required for BCS.

Apparently I was wrong and an E3 subscription is required to use BCS something that by the way I cannot understand...I can only think that BCS is considered a SPO P2 feature and that's why E3 is required. Sorry for the misundertanding.
