SharePoint News Web Part connecting to "Select Sites" is not pulling in new news stories

My communications team just told me about this issue a few hours ago.
I've logged a ticket with Microsoft, see below.
It must be a coding issue with the News Web part because If I change the Time Zone from New Zealand to US Pacific time And the Region Locale to English United States - the test site news web part and Highlighted content web part show the same correct news items.
I've just tested - the Region Locale for the site is the thing that breaks the news web part. If it isn't "English (United states)"

Like other users since about 25 Mar 2025 our home page News web part only displays items published on or before 12 Mar 2025.

Proving that the news items and filter criteria are OK, and that the problem is with the code of the News web part.
If I change the Time Zone from New Zealand to US Pacific time And the Region Locale to English United States - the test site news web part and Higlighted content web part show the same correct news items.
We're experiancing the same issue with News webparts filtered using a Managed Propery. We're on a US Tenant but our sites are all set to Regional UK settings. The News webpart filteres fine when the 'Title contains...' filter is used but if we filter using the 'Title' Managed property, the published date on the returned news items is incorrect and recent items are not included. The date is swapping the day and month values and I suspect the missing items would have dates where they day value is over 12 which would not be valid - no items after December 12 are being returned. Following the hints posted earlier, We tried a new site with US Regional Settings and the News webpart returned the correct posts with the correct date. The image below shows the three tests with all News web parts returning News pages from an organisational news site with UK Regional settings:

- News webpart on SharePoint site with UK Regional Settings using the 'Title' managed property filter (wrong results)
- News webpart on SharePoint site with US Regional Settings using the 'Title managed property filter (Correct results)
NOTE: In testing, we used the https://microsoft-search.github.io/pnp-modern-search/usage/search-results/ webpart to confirm that all Managed Propery values were consistent and correct and this confirmed that the SharePoint search was working correctly and the News pages wqere being indexed correctly
