SharePoint Modern list wildcard filter

The previous filter option on a SharePoint Online list had the option to filter for items that were part of the string. With the new modern list filter, it looks like the filter does a match only from the start and not in between. Eg. if I have a item 'Cool Product', doing a filter for 'Cool' brings up the result, however filtering for 'Product' gives a message stating that there are no items starting with Product. Is there a workaround for this?
