SharePoint migration tool Modified by not migrating and other issues

Hello,

 

I've just downloaded the latest version of the SharePoint migration tool. I'm trying to migrate content from a file share to SharePoint online. 

 

All the "modified by" and "created by" appear as "System Account. If I open a Word document, for example, I can see the real names of the author. Why is SharePoint showing System Account, then?

 

Also, I have provided a list of extension to ignore, using the vertical bar between extensions. According to the documentation it needs to be "Enter a list of of file extensions of the types of files you do not want to migrate. Separate each extension entered with a vertical bar." So I entered a list like this

 

doc|conf|bla|other

 

but all the .doc, .conf, .bla and .other files are still being copied. Or does the dot need to be with the file extension??? The documentation is so not clear. 

 

 

What am I not getting?
