Sharepoint list location column displaying Location: Name instead of address
I'm learning Sharepoint lists and am running into an issue with Location columns that doesn't seem to be replicated in any of the how-to's and videos I've seen on the subject. When I have a location column in a list, what I would expect it to show is the full address (street, city, state, zip). What actually displays appears to be the "Location: Name" column only:
If relevant, when you hover over or try to click the location column it displays a blank card:
Could this be a settings issue at my organization? Or potentially something to do with my account permissions? Or do I have to do something with JSON or the settings to get the Location column to display the full address?
JSmitty595 You're facing an issue where the Location column in your SharePoint list is only displaying the "Location: Name" instead of showing the full address details like street, city, state, and zip code. This behavior seems to be a recent change or limitation introduced by Microsoft, potentially for privacy or security reasons as mentioned by another user. However, there are a few potential workarounds I can try.
First, I'll verify the settings for the Location column in the list to see if there's an option to configure how the location information is displayed. If that doesn't work, I can explore using JSON formatting to customize how the column renders the address fields. Alternatively, I could create a calculated column that concatenates the individual address components into a single column displaying the full address. If none of those solutions are successful, I'll escalate the matter by raising a support case with Microsoft. I'll request an official explanation from them regarding this behavior and guidance on how to properly display full addresses in the Location column.
Since displaying complete addresses may be a critical requirement for your organization, I'll pursue this matter diligently with Microsoft support until we find an appropriate resolution. That said, it's possible this is an intentional change from Microsoft's side for privacy or security purposes. But I'll make sure to gather all the necessary details and explore every possible option to address your requirement.
Please let me know if you have any additional information that could help troubleshoot this issue further.

I have exactly the same issue. I was "unofficially" told that Microsoft removed this feature due to privacy concerns. Which makes no sense to me. I'm currently requestiong an offcial letter from Micrsoft explaining this. The engineers assigned to the case have not been able to provide one. This is highly suspiciouse to me...that they have not provided an answer in 4 months.

- Fausto_CEpedaCopper ContributorNo worries. I got communication from Microsoft they depricated the feature, they removed the info from the "card" and remove the card popup function.
