SharePoint list date columns shows a date earlier in User laptop
Hi everyone,
Scenario: a Sharepoint list named as Time Off Calendar shows a date shifted see cell "wrong date"
Scenario | Wilson browser shows as | David bowser shows as |
Wilson enters a new item with date Feb 11, in Start and End columns | Feb 11 | Feb 10 (wrong date) |
When user David enters a new item with date Feb 18, in Start and End columns | Feb 18 | Feb 18 |
I have attached screen shots.
Wilson screenshot:
David screenshot:
I would assume that it is a regional, time zone mismatch in the user Wilson (I guess), how can I correct it?
I would like to standardize in the admin console instead, to block any change by the users, How can I do that?
- *** I solved this issue by myself*** in two steps:
Step 1: Change regional settings for a site
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-regional-settings-for-a-site-e9e189c7-16e3-45d3-a090-770be6e83c1a
Step 2: Change your personal language and region settings (admin user)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/change-your-personal-language-and-region-settings-caa1fccc-bcdb-42f3-9e5b-45957647ffd7
Make sure you select the option Always use regional settings defined by site administrators.
You must wait for 1 hr (propagation time) and "Voila", all the users will get the Time Zone from the SharePoint site. Keep in mind that the user can still change Location.
as FYI, I open a ticket in Microsoft on Friday and they have not found above articles yet, they are telling me that it is not possible to grab the regional configuration from SharePoint 🙂 (LOL)
