sharepoint list conditional formatting

Hi, I'm new to SharePoint so still finding my feet,

I have a list with several columns and all the text is nicely vertical aligned in the middle.

As soon as I apply some conditional formatting, the text goes to the top

How do I change my site settings so that when ever I apply conditional formatting, the text is aligned correctly. does the site have a common CSS style sheet that JSON uses?
