sharepoint in file exporer

I have a Teams SharePoint site linked through in File Explorer. I've dropped a file in one of the SharePoint folders in File Explorer. However, it is not visible in Teams Files view (or in SharePoint Online). Conversely, the files that are in that folder are not viewable from File Explorer. This is the case with all the folders on this SharePoint site. Any ideas?
