SharePoint Document Library - Add in folder template within existing doc library

I'm creating a folder structure in a document library for a department in the business, there are two folders that will be manually created that feed from the top folder of Venue Name i.e. Year and Month (2018, 2019, 2020 and so on and  October, November, December and so on).

Once in the month folder, I then need to add in a folder with a set of sub folders that will always stay the same.  Basically a document library template within a document library.  Ideally I'd like to add my folder and sub folders as a template but there does not seem to be an option for this.  I have also explored the folder content type but do not seem to be able to achieve what I need.

Can anyone suggest any no code options?

Thanks,

Anna

I can think of a "janky" solution that would have some level of success in the Modern experience. You could manually copy a folder holding your standard folder structure from either your local File Explorer or another Document Library to however many document libraries you need, but you'd have to populate your bottom-level folders with something for the paste to actually work (SharePoint won't accept folders if they're empty during copy/upload), like an empty text file.

  • Take a look to document sets, they are very closed to what you need...the only downside is that document sets have not been modernized yet
