SharePoint Designer 2013 Stuck at the Windows Security Window
Hi
is there a solution ?? Have the same issue. SPD is enabled at all sites. All sites are affected and I am the site admin. Using SPD 32Bit SP1
Tried different sites but nothing works...
The login page keeps opening an I got the following message (if I say "Remember Login"; Sorry its German ;-) ):
No luck yet!! BUT, for a brief time a few days ago, it worked! Then prompt returned a few hours later…boo!
I am not sure if this is related, but I had been out for several days. When I signed on a message popped up asking if I wanted to stay logged on which has never happened at work (password is not needed when on the network). The authentication message seemed to return after I cleared the IE cache and did a reboot because datasheet view would not work in SP2010 ( I work with SharePoint Online and SharePoint 2010.)
A coworker was able to resolve the same problem by changing:
- BasicAuthLevel from 1 to 2.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
Type BasicAuthLevel, and then press Enter.
Right-click BasicAuthLevel, and then click Modify.
In the Value data box, type 2, and then click OK.
0 - Basic authentication disabled
1 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL connections only
2 - Basic authentication enabled for SSL and non-SSL connections
Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.
2. Adding site to AuthForwardServerList.

I submitted a support ticket via Office 365 and got this issue resolved. I wish I had known what was wrong, so I could tell others what to do, but I imagine if all these steps didn't work for you either MS will have to resolve it on their end.

Thank you for sharing David.
I am not a SharePoint administrator, so the Help button for MS is not available. It is my understanding my supervisor who is contacted them, but the problem was not resolved at that time.
I did find a solution for me and will post in reply to my question in case others are following this.

I too am having this issue. I also cannot connect with Visual Studio or SharePoint Online Management Shell.
