AFAIK, there is not a way to know if a SPO Team Site was created because a Planner Plan was created, a Group was created or a Team was created

Nov 28, 2018I think this script can help you detect how many sites originated from MS Teams and how many from other apps and also inactive groups based on activity. You can also find powershell script for yammer originated groups but not other sources yet i guess.

Ok, thanks so much. This seems a bit complicated. I spoke with MS, they indicated they are working on an interface. But we'll have to see how that goes. Reporting has always be very lacking with SharePoint. I hope they are working on making it easier for those of us who have to provide statistical analysis. Thanks again.
