SharePoint Audit

jcgonzalezmartinthere is some information in the Audit log that shows when a Service Account creates a Site. For example if you go to the Azure AD Audit log, and use Microsoft Teams Services as the Actor, you will find every that account did.
If you choose Add Group as the Activity, it will show all of the different account that have been used.
It is tricky and poorly documented, the filters seem to be "Case Sensitive" which makes it even more difficult

I think this script can help you detect how many sites originated from MS Teams and how many from other apps and also inactive groups based on activity. You can also find powershell script for yammer originated groups but not other sources yet i guess.

Ok, thanks so much. This seems a bit complicated. I spoke with MS, they indicated they are working on an interface. But we'll have to see how that goes. Reporting has always be very lacking with SharePoint. I hope they are working on making it easier for those of us who have to provide statistical analysis. Thanks again.
