Sharepoint 2016 Audit Log not working Audit table size is huge

Hi

We are facing issues while generating audit report SharePoint Server 2016. we have tried to Trim the data but all data is not getting trimmed. we have checked in content DB Auditdata table report is huge when try to get report using script is loading and loading no result we are getting. we need help what we can do to this resolved.
