Sharepoint 2013/2016 Deployment to Test and Production

Hi Experts,

I have question regarding Sharepoint Deployment to basically test environments(2 nodes).

We have a Sharepoint 2013 solution which has 11 WSPs & 15 features and there are about 20 developers working on this solution daily.

We are using powershell for deployment using Settings file and template files. In settings file we specify which solution and feature needs to be deployed with latest changes.

And usually one WSP is taking around 5 mins, so complete solution sometime takes more then an hour.

On other hand, the same WSP when deployed from VS on developer machine it takes hardly few seconds.

So I just want to know if is it normal that Test environment takes this much time. And if you guys some advice or some tools or scripts which could accelerate the deployment process.
