SharePoint + D365 Business Central licensing and use rights clarification

Hi,

We're implementing D365 Business Central for a customer, who's planning to store a significant amount of files, specificially pictures (employees will be taking pictures during diffent stages of completing a business process).

We're thinking of using Sharepoint for the images storage.

Taking a picture will be initiated by a user from Business Central and followingly, users will access the pictures through Business Central. However, ultimately the images will be stored in Sharepoint.

My question is - in that scenario, will the users require a license for O365 / SharePoint or their Dynamics 365 Business Central license will be sufficient?

Those are field workers, who don't use a PC and thus don't really need an Office license at all.

you'll find here some helpful informations:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/servicedescriptions/sharepoint-online-service-description/sharepoint-online-service-description

    https://powell-software.com/resources/blog/microsoft365-and-sharepoint/#:~:text=No%2C%20you%20do%20not%20need,Word%2C%20Excel%2C%20and%20PowerPoint.

thats for the per user solution.
a different solution could be a central management of the files in sp using one user assuming that the pictures are not user related. what you need in this scenario is a management of the file paths in sp linked to bc and a upload/download solution.

you could also think about other dms solutions with ready to use interfaces to bc.
