SharePoint - OneDrive Folder Renaming Issues
Were a small business of about 25 SharePoint contributors (60 employees), we recently began using SharePoint more extensively with a much deeper folder structure in-conjunction with One Drive Sync so employees would have easy access to folders and files from explorer.
We discovered a serious problem when renaming the a folder closer to the root directory that causes One Drive Sync to freeze during the sync and thus results in duplicating the folders (you end of with 3 folders from the attempt to rename the folder - 1 - name before renaming, 2 - name after renaming, 3 - name after renaming with the computer name in the name). MS tech support does not know what's causing this problem and without the ease of being to access SharePoint files via explorer were afraid that we will need to abandon Office 365 for a more reliable solution. This problem has now occurred several times on different computers.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin_MGM Is this a team site with these folders being the channel names? Renaming the top-level channel name folders in SharePoint will result in folders being created again with the original channel name.

It is a team site. I've never tried renaming a folder above folder directly in the attached screenshot. So I don't believe I was renaming at the top level channel name (i.e. "Documents" - in my situation).
- This only happens assuming the SharePoint site in use is attached to Teams, which from original post not sure is the case? Can you confirm Kevin.
