Are you by chance enabling the auditing feature in a modern SPO Site? As an alternative you can use the Audit Log Search?
jcgonzalezmartin - Thanks for your response. Yes, I was trying to enable auditing in SPO modern site. Will Audit Log Search includes the changes in SPO sites without this feature being enabled?
