Setting a site level policy for 'Anyone' External Sharing is not being saved

Hi All

Our tenant has been set for SharePoint Anyone Sharing external permissions:

When changing the policy for a specific site (from 'New and existing guests' to 'Anyone')

First the status changes to 'Updating...'

Then remains permanently set on 'Loading...'

If I exit and re-check the policy it has reverted back to it's initial setting:

I use Edge (100.0.1185.50) as my default browser - but have tried Chrome (100.0.4896.127) with the same results.

Any ideas?
