Hi WeeTeckTan
When you change the password of a service account in Active Directory (AD), SharePoint 2019 will not be able to authenticate to the service account until the password is updated in SharePoint. This can cause the following services to stop working:
- SharePoint Central Administration
- SharePoint Timer Job services
- Service application services
- App pools
To avoid these service interruptions, you should update the password of the service account in SharePoint as soon as possible after changing the password in AD. You can do this by following these steps:
- Go to Central Administration > Security > Configure Managed Accounts.
- Click on the "Edit" icon next to the service account whose password you want to change.
- In the "Change password" section, enter the new password for the service account.
- Click on the "OK" button.
Once you have updated the password of the service account in SharePoint, the services should start working again.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind when changing the password of a service account in SharePoint 2019:
- If you are using a managed service account, you will need to update the password in the appropriate configuration file.
- If you are using a farm account, you will need to update the password in the farm configuration database.
- You should test the services after changing the password to make sure that they are working properly.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
