Search Results in Modern SharePoint

I have a question about search. When you click on a file retrieved from the search results on a modern SharePoint site, it brings up a preview windows that allows you to either 'Open in a new tab' or Download. When you use Microsoft Search (for Bing) and click a document it opens the file from it's actual location. I much prefer the latter as it prevents users from accidentally downloading files to their local computer and cuts out an extra step. Is there a way of enabling this behavior in SharePoint? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
