Search not working for Sharepoint folder shared with me by external partner
Hi,
An external partner has shared a sharepoint folder with me that contains hundreds of subfolders and files.... so was going to use SEARCH to look for what I need. However, when trying the search, there are no results at all.... Even when trying to search for a sub-folder that is there, SEARCH will not find anything.
I believe there may be some permission missing? The folder was shared with me with "share with specific user" option. The external partner is trying to convince me it is issue on our side - which I do not believe is the case here.
Any idea how to fix that?
Been trying to find a solution for few days already but no luck.

It's a site permission thing. If you share the site, you can search with the external account. But if you share a single folder, the search is not successful.
It is not possible to share only one folder with the functional search.

Eventually, I've asked the external partner to create a guest account for me and was able to sync the folder and can search locally 🙂
