Result Types for Modern Search

Thank you for the response. I want to move toward the Modern approach, which seems to be O365 Groups for collaboration and SharePoint for records management, but not being able to configure the modern "Global" search is a serious drawback for this kind of approach. Is there any way to push a search query from the ootb upper left search box straight to the Search Center?
