Remove "Pages" from Navigation
You will be able to remove the Pages link from the navigation in the near future. Thank you for the feedback!
This was almost 3 months ago. Any news on how soon the 'near future' will be?
Something might have happened in the background, as now with first release users I can't see the Pages node in the navigation. Users with standard release still can see it.
In the meantime (at least I can't remember I've seen it previously) a "Show pages" checkbox appeared within Site settings / Navigation, by default it seems to be unchecked, but it's greyed out, can't be checked.
Do you have publishing turned on?
I do. Is it responsible for the presence of the "Pages" node?
It would be responsible for you having a "Navigation" settings pane. My guess is they are implementing but not done yet, which is great.
