Remove "Pages" from Navigation
You will be able to remove the Pages link from the navigation in the near future. Thank you for the feedback!
I'm also struggling with this. Based on what I've found here, it is a by design behavior by now and the "Pages" node can't be removed.
Navigation should reflect the content of the site you are on. If the only page on a site is the Home page why do I need a link to 'Pages'.
The problem is that the 'Pages' node can't be removed from the navigation at all, so you have it even if you don't need it.
I'm agreeing with your point. I have sites which only contain document libraries, which now have a Pages link on the bar with nothing in it but a basic Home/Welcome page. Not being able to remove it and the questions of "why is that there?" and "can you remove it?" from users is driving me mad :-(
It's certainly not the only modern change thats annoying but it's such an odd thing to add "by design".
