Reduce the height of the Upper boarder
You can use the Minimal header layout which uses a reduced height to provide quick visual access to content in a single line including small site logo, site title, site navigation, site actions and labels.
Alternatively, you can use Compact header layout. Initially this will have larger height than minimal layout. But, once you scroll the page (vertically), header height will be reduced automatically.
