Recovering files which have been deleted when synchonized to SharePoint

Hi all,

I would appreciate if someone can help me please.

I have come across a situation where documents and folders are missing from SharePoint when one of my colleague has synchronized his desktop with SharePoint.

I have tried to check in the recycle, but could not find any of the files.

Is there a way to find how to recover these files/folders?
