Good find, I had a highlighted content web part for that purpose, but the filters always still caught some annoying files I have never opened or synced with OneDrive etc. This one seems to actually limit it to Office documents I've opened recently which is nice.

That’s the whole point of it thou is for current user so you can surface those. It’s great for those using team sites etc. that you visit often or on a landing page other than the default Sharepoint home page. It’s a nice quick easy place to open files you’ve been working on in a place you frequent.If you need a “site” version of this then highlighted content web part with list view works great.

Interesting.&nbsp;However the webpart doesn't seem to offer any customization.Also because it's all the recent documents for the current user, it only seems useable on some "my" page and not on any communication or teamsite.so the use cases seem to be limited?

Yes would be nice for a landing page.In that case It would also be nice if we could customize the "Sites" webpart so it's possible to display the users most visited sites or followed sites.like on the sharepoint.aspx pages or the https://www.office.com/?auth=2&amp;home=1 page
