In a context with scheduling turned on how do I filter pages with a future publishing date?

have you seen this documentation with relevant date intervals supported by KQL?
Map your managed property to a existing RefinableDate and try again.

Yes I saw it, however here are my problems/Doubts:
- as far as I read, when you activate scheduling, the "PublishingStartDate" becomes active with a future date, if you publish immediately this field remains empty
- The field "PublishingStartDate" seems to be a Text field, not a date field (as per search schema)
- it would be good enough to be able to query all pages with "PublishingStartDate" NOT empty, but I am not succeding (since it's a text I've tried PublishingStartDate:* as explained in the page you linked for text values
Edited to add: there is another thing "by design" when you schedule, the page version is 0.1 and it will be published in 1 week when it will become 1.0. Could it be the reason why it is not being indexed? (all items not published to at least 1.0 are not indexed)

yes, that is correct, only documents/pages with a major version will be indexed by SharePoint.
