Choice column problem - new experience
Hi Catherine,
The work around that I have found to this is to allow "Fill In Choices" on that column. The likelihood of them adding a new entry is worth the trade off for requiring a value.

Hi Kimberly,
Thanks for the speedy reply.
It does work, but the customer does not want to deal with unwanted entries which is a high likelihood with the users. Still good to know if no one else has a solution.
Forgot to post there is not a problem with checkboxes (allow multiple selections) .

CatherineB Is there harm in setting up an N/A option for default selection? It's not what I'd call graceful, but it does give your users a way out of making a selection.
*Edit* Didn't see that you already had an idea for a no-meaning default selection. I'd throw my vote behind going that route.

Yes, that is a direction I will be going though it is good to know Allow Fill In Choice works too.
