Mark-Kashman FYI, not sure if I should contact 365 support for this or not, didn't know if you knew about this bug but it's still happening, linking to a site within same tenant the cog for add a page, add an app, site contents will retain previous site's context. Thanks!

Steve Zhang Hi, I have a similar error with the quick lunch, when I unchecked the Enable Quick Launch option the menu doesn't disappears

Steve Zhang Noticed today, that the search bar has this same context issue. Navigating from a Site to another site via links without a full page refresh holds the search box context to the previous site. Whatever you guys did to update the Settings cog etc. to use the correct context needs applied to the search box :). Let me know if you have any questions about it!

Deleted,
Thanks for reporting this bug to us. I am just back from Chinese New Year holiday. Sorry for the late response. Let me repeat the steps about the bug you find to ensure we are actually talking about exactly the same error
1. In team site A, on the left top corner search bar, type something and press enter to open the search page of site A. The URL in the browser are like https://microsoft.sharepoint.com/teams/A/_layouts/15/search.aspx/siteall?q=quickchart&s=17592498740021
2. In site B, paste this URL to the quick links so that we suppose to click on the link to open the same search page with same search result in site A
3. But actually, when I click on the link in quick links, it open the link but there is nothing in the page.
4. I press the refresh button of the browser, it shows the right search result in site A
Is it the same error?

Steve Zhang No, same as original post, except the search bar on top right on commsite doesn't change context, it might do the same for other searches haven't tested, but basically a quick link to another site collection changes site but doesn't refresh the page, this used to cause the cog wheel menu items to use the site you came from context, but you guys fixed that. However the search box wasn't updated and it still retains the context.
For example.
1. I start on site /sites/SiteA and click a quick link or link on that page to /sites/SiteB
2. On siteB i go to the search box in top right corner and start typing and all results are from SiteA.
3. If I refresh the page it works correct with SiteB search.
It's something with links going site to site for speed purposes I guess not switching those controls context to the new site. Whatever you guys did to fix the "Site Content", "Add App" etc. needs same thing applied to search box :).
I can do a video if you can't reproduce of those notes, just let me know.
- DeletedNov 16, 2017Doh, I thought this was fixed, seems to not be 2nd time I loaded up page and tested my link :(. Anyway, let me know if you guys find anything!

Could you please check again? I was told it's fixed
- DeletedDec 14, 2017Seems to be working now thanks :).
- DeletedNov 15, 2017The template thing seems to have fixed itself recently but linking into another site from another site still has the ‘add an app’ ‘site content’ links in that section of the cog still use the original site you come from. Thanks for looking at it!
