Quick Launch displays when not enabled
I have a modern SharePoint site where Quick launch is NOT enabled. Existing pages are no longer working properly and the quick launch is displayed.
I created a new sub-site and have unchecked the 'Enable Quick Launch' and it's still being displayed.
BejeweledOne Did you enable any site feature (like Publishing feature) from site settings?

- You are correct. I had done that but didn't correlate the two actions as I didn't notice it right away. I have deactivated those features and everything is working properly now.
