Question about the 5000 items threshold
Hello!
I got this list with currently 1600 items in it.. The views me and my colleges are sitting in have from 1-50 items per day. I use the [DAY]-1 function in each view..
So when we reach the threshold of 5000items we wont notice it right? Because I have limited our view to only look at todays items?
I have indexed one column so we can search for each item we have created.
It wont suddenly break after hitting 5000 items, right?
- Swaminathan SriramIron ContributorHi,
SharePoint Online allows you to store up to 30 million items or files in a SharePoint list or library. You will only have to ensure that list view doesn't exceed 5000. Please refer to this Microsoft reference link on managing large lists and libraries in SharePoint - https://support.office.com/en-us/article/manage-large-lists-and-libraries-in-sharepoint-b8588dae-9387-48c2-9248-c24122f07c59.
Thanks. - What I recommend you is to replicate that list and populate the list with more 5000 items so you can test the behavior that you are going to have
- 288088Brass ContributorHow do I populate the list with 5000 items the best way ? Isnt there an answer to my question? Do I really have to test?
